Camelia is a cozy, bright, and quiet apartment just a few steps from the beautiful piazza Santa Croce and its marvelous basilica which is also the burial site of Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, among many other famous historical figures.
The apartment is located on the first floor of a renovated historical building. It features a large bedroom with a comfortable queen size bed and an en-suite full bathroom. A large window from bedroom opens up to a small garden. There is also a living room with a double sofa bed, a small kitchen for guests to enjoy simple cooking and a second full bathroom in the corridor. A wide sliding wall can be closed to separate the living room from the hallway, transforming the living room into a separate bedroom.
The kitchen is equipped with utensils, microwave, 2-burner stove, small fridge, electric kettle, and Italian coffee maker.
The living room area also opens to a small cute balcony where you can enjoy a glass of wine in tranquility of this apartment.
WiFi internet connection, washing machine, air conditioning, and independent heating system are also available in this apartment.
Shops, restaurants, cafes and all historic sights such as the Duomo, Uffizi, and Ponte Vecchio are within a very short walking distance.

USA Immaculate, modern apartment, with two lovely bathrooms and a small kitchen that is just enough for fixing a simple meal. The apartment is on a quiet street a half block from Santa Croce, and within walking distance of everything essential. I walked from the train station with my bag--took about 25 minutes.
There is an added bonus that the living room can be closed off with sliding doors so that whoever uses the sofa bed has privacy. There is also a small balcony for relaxing, and it overlooks a nicely kept green space.
The washing machine was a plus. However, there is no outside line to dry clothes, so I used a line I brought from home.
The women who settled me into the apartment were lovely, too. They recommended great restaurants and ice cam places, as well as some not so well known tourist places--like taking the bus from San Marco to Fiesole to see the Roman ruins. Be sure to take them up on their offer to orient you--I'd been to Florence several times, but found their recommendations better than anything I had tried in the past.
